We’re delighted to announce that we have received a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 again this year!
Moving to Broadmarsh Coastal Park, Frying High Fish & Chips come under the Havant Borough Council jurisdiction and subject to a new Food Hygiene Rating. We are confident in our hygiene and processes but it’s still a bit nervy when an inspector comes along and scrutinises everything 👀
After a day of auditing – we’re chuffed to bits that we’ve received the highest rating!
What does this mean? A hygiene rating 5 means that the food business has very good hygiene standards and fully complies with the law. This rating is given by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
At the inspection, the officer will check the following three elements:
- how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- the physical condition of the business –including cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, pest control and other facilities
- how the business manages ways of keeping food safe – looking at processes, training and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained
The officer can then assess the level of confidence in standards being maintained in the future.
Food Hygiene Rating 5 is top of the scale, this means the hygiene standards are very good and fully comply with the law.
To get the top rating, businesses must do well in all three elements which are referenced above.
So you can be sure that the food is not only delicious, but comes from a safe and reputable establishment.
